Areej Fatima Associate
Areej is an associate in Bernard’s Business Law group. She assists clients with a range of diverse corporate and commercial matters. As a junior associate, Areej also supports senior lawyers with sophisticated transactions.
Before becoming part of the Bernard team in 2026, Areej completed her articles at the Vancouver office of a large national law firm.
Areej obtained her Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University, and her Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Sociology from the University of British Columbia. During law school Areej volunteered with her school’s chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada and helped to create a legal information podcast. She also participated in her school’s mentorship program and supported students with their academic and career goals.
Before embarking on her legal career, Areej served as a local and district wide leader in a nonprofit organization, and worked as a teaching assistant for various Sociology courses. During her undergraduate degree she also worked as a radio coordinator.
Areej speaks Urdu fluently.
