Brogan G. Pastro Associate

Brogan obtained his BA (Law with French Law) from New College at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. He then attended at the University of British Columbia (Peter A. Allard School of Law) where he obtained an LLM in Common Law.

Brogan articled in the Okanagan and was called to the BC Bar in 2021.  Before joining Bernard LLP in 2024 he practiced as a litigation lawyer in the Kootenays and in Vancouver.  Brogan maintains a general litigation practice and has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, including the Court of Appeal, as well as practicing in the Federal Court.  Brogan is particularly available to assist clients with their family, wills and estates, commercial and employment and human rights law needs.

Representative Cases

ES v JS, 2021 BCSC 2148 – This case dealt with the enforcement of a consent order in a family law case. The Court held that a parent breached a clause in the parties’ consent order about schooling and parenting time. In doing so, the Court agreed with his submissions about the factors to consider when setting the value of a fine under the Family Law Act, s. 61(2)(g).

Other Interests

When Brogan is not at the office, he enjoys skiing, sailing, and playing music. He speaks fluent French, and in addition to Canada, has lived in France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
