Julie Gaydar Associate
Julie Gaydar joined Bernard LLP in February 2024 as an associate in the business law group. She brings a combination of in-house and private practice experience, allowing her to provide practical and solution-oriented advice.
Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, real estate, health, and maritime law. In these areas, she regularly acts on share and asset transactions, advises on real property matters including development and commercial leasing, and drafts a wide range of commercial agreements. She also assists with health-sector agreements and regulatory issues, particularly in the context of setting up innovative health clinics across British Columbia.
Julie is known for her precise and strategic drafting skills, especially in complex commercial agreements, and for her ability to navigate legal uncertainty with persistence and clarity. She is driven to find thoughtful, practical answers and is always looking for ways to support her clients’ long-term success.
Julie obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2018. She then began her legal career at a regional law firm, where she maintained a broad litigation practice, including disputes involving contract and commercial matters, real and personal property, and construction, among others. She later acted as in-house counsel for a leading Canadian real estate developer, primarily advising on matters and disputes concerning commercial leases and the construction of mixed-use developments. These experiences equipped her with a keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks and deepened her understanding of how legal decisions affect day-to-day operations.
