Jeffrey Wu Associate

Jeffrey articled with Bernard LLP and joined the firm as an associate in July of 2020. He practices in the firm’s business law group, assisting clients with a variety of corporate and commercial matters including private M&A, corporate finance, corporate governance and commercial leases. As a junior associate, Jeffrey provides support to senior solicitors on large and complex transactions. Jeffrey also carries on a pleasure craft vessel transaction practice where he represents both Vendors and Purchasers, advising clients on issues relating to importation duties and taxes, marine mortgages and Canada Shipping Act registration requirements.

Jeffrey obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. Prior to attending law school, he also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. During law school, Jeffrey was the President of the Asia Pacific Law Club where he organized a series of networking events, providing an opportunity for students to connect with lawyers who serve Asia-based clients.

Jeffrey is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

  • Supported senior solicitor in representing a large Canadian construction company in its bid on correctional centre design-build projects.
  • Supported senior solicitor in a tax planned cross-border loan syndicate major refinancing involving a building materials company and several of its Canadian and US subsidiaries
