Our New Associate
The partners of Bernard LLP are pleased to announce that Vera Syrma has recently joined the Firm. Her practice is focused on litigation and maritime work, dealing with all manner of legal problems encountered by our clients. She will be working closely with other lawyers in the firm providing valuable support, as well as handling matters directly for our clients.
Vera was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2023 after articling in the Vancouver office of an international law firm. Prior to the completion of her Certificate of Qualification in Law from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, Vera obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in European Politics from the University of Leeds in England, pursued postgraduate studies at KU Leuven, Oxford University, and graduated with her law degree from the University of Law in Bristol, England.
Vera grew up in one of the largest port cities on the Black Sea and her family is actively involved in the international shipping industry, hence her passion for maritime law.
